pebble.php (106 download(s))

This importer imports entries (with subtitle), comments (with reference to parent comment if applicable), tags, categories, and attachments. It rewrites URLs for references to files and images in entries, so that these will continue to work automatically. It also makes a best effort to flag links that may need to be edited manually. A list of entries with these links will be displayed after importing is done; currently looks for relative links and URLs containing user-specified strings. Note that, although I make a best-effort to guess the offset from the timezone, it doesn't always work. (Setting TZ using putenv didn't work for me when I was testing, so I had to try other things). Tested on WordPress MU 1.3, installed in subdirectories, with both the site admin account and a blog admin account. Requirements: * PHP 4.x (will not work with PHP 5.x) * Zip module installed and enabled Instructions:

  1. Copy pebble.php into wp-admin/import.
  2. Create an archive of your Pebble blog. You don't need to remove anything; the importer will ignore any files it can't handle. It may be best to remove logs, etc, to reduce the size of the zipfile for upload, though.
  3. Go to Manage>>Import>>Pebble
  4. Upload the zipped archive.
  5. Fill in additional options. If you are in the main blog's admin area, and are a site administrator, you have some additional options (marked with asterisks)
  6. Finish the import. You'll get a list of entries with links that have been flagged as being interesting. For example, relative links, absolute links to your old domain if you choose...
